MACHESNEY PARK, IL- The rrstar.com reports that one man was killed in a three-vehicle accident that took place at the intersection of Ralston Road and Illinois Route 251 on Friday, July 6, 2018. The victim was driving south in a Corvette when he lost control of his vehicle.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s office, at about 5:40 p.m., the driver veered off the west side of Route 251, traveled into a ditch, and then was airborne when he crashed the Corvette into a Nissan Murano and an Ecolab truck that were stoppedat the traffic light on Ralston Road.
The victim was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The deceased driver’s identity has not yet been released, but he was describedas a 69-year-old man from Machesney Park.
None of the five people traveling in the Nissan were injured, nor was the driver of the truck.
The cause of the accident is not known at this time.

Distracted driving dropped by 2.2% to 3,450 deaths.
