Christopher Gauthier is an Associate Attorney with Stein & Shulman, LLC. Chris specializes in representing individuals who have sustained serious personal injuries resulting from someone else’s negligence or other misconduct. Primarily, his practice areas include premises liability, auto accidents, pedestrian injuries, wrongful death, and medical negligence. He also has experience with cases involving hazardous recreational activities, large commercial vehicles, and liquor liability.

Chris works on all aspects of cases here at Stein & Shulman, including pre-litigation and negotiations as well as throughout the litigation process and settlement. During his time here and prior, he has helped procure and utilize expert witnesses, that are crucial to any complex personal injury claim. Additionally, he has recently been gaining experience representing those injured by uninsured and underinsured motorists, and the arbitration proceedings that follow.

Before joining the firm, Chris graduated cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island, where he was Vice President of the Moot Court Board and an honors student. In his second year of law school, he served as a judicial extern on the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. There, he worked on a myriad of cases and research involving complex class action, civil rights, and constitutional claims.

He also spent time doing legal aid with The Bronx Defenders in New York, and interning with a plaintiffs’ firm in Providence, where he first gained experience with personal injury and medical malpractice cases.

He is a member of both the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association, and now resides in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife Natalie and their cat, Boo.
