LASALLE COUNTY, Illinois — A woman formerly residing in Newark, Illinois died when the vehicle which she drove collided with a tractor-trailer truck. WSPYNEWS.com reported that the fatal crash took place on Monday, November 12, 2018, around 7:49 p.m. on Route 71 in LaSalle County. Reconstructing the accident is a cooperative effort between the Illinois State Police, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and the LaSalle County Coroner’s office. None of the agencies issued a statement regarding the cause of the accident or who may have been at fault in causing the crash. The matter remains under investigation.
The LaSalle County Coroner’s office identified the deceased as 40-year-old Jaime Tuttle from Newark, Illinois. The investigating authorities have not released any information as to how the accident might have occurred. All the information available at this time is that a semi-trailer and a passenger car collided in the area of East 30thRoad on Route 71 not far from Newark.
The LaSalle County sheriff’s office, LaSalle County Coroner’s office along with the Illinois State Police received dispatches to the site of the crash. Additionally, emergency medical technicians from Newark and Sheridan arrived on the sceneto assist.
None of the authorities would identify the operator of the 18-wheeler. However, they did say that EMS transported the driver to Morris Hospital for observation and evaluation. There was no information about the extent of any injuries the driver might have suffered or the driver’s current physical condition.
The accident reconstruction work will be performed as a joint operation between LaSalle County sheriff’s deputies and the Illinois State Police. The LaSalle County Coroner’s office will also assist the investigation by disclosing findings made during the autopsy of Ms. Tuttle. None of the law enforcement agencies involved issued citations or expressed intent to pursue criminal chargesat this time.
