ORION, IL- Wqad.com writes that a collision between three vehicles injured four individuals. The crash took place at about 7:30in the morning on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, near Orion. The crash took place when a 16-year-old driving a pickup truck was waiting to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a Dodge drivenby a 20-year old. The force of the crash pushed the pickup truck into the intersection where it was struck by a Kia that was being driven bya 15-year-old.
The driver of the pickup truck declined medical treatment. The 15-year-old was transported to the hospital via airlift. Two passengers in the Kia were transported to a nearby hospital. The 20-year-old driving the Dodge was taken to the hospital. She received a ticket for failing to reduce her speed to avoid an accident.
The victims’ conditions have not been reported.
Vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death for teenagers in the United States. The chances of teens drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 have a risk of dying in a crash that is three times as high as the risk is for drivers 20 and older.
