NAPERVILLE, IL- Kwqc.com reports that a crash on Interstate 88 injured multiple people on Sunday, August 19, 2018. The crash took place near mile marker 123 a little before 11 a.m.
According to Illinois State Police, the collision was the result of a truck that failed to reduce its speed and rear-ended a Nissan. The Nissan and two other vehicles were driving at a slow speed or stopped when the truck smashed into the back of the Nissan. The Nissan was pushed into the back of a Lexus, which crashed into a Chevrolet.
An 11-year-old child was a passenger in the Nissan at the time and sustained severe injuries. The child and the driver of the Lexus were both taken to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
