JOHNSON COUNTY, IL- Wsiltv.com writes that a fatal accident took place on Interstate 24 on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in Johnson County. Reports indicate that a driver of a 2019 Infiniti Q70 was heading east on Interstate 24 at about 4:15 in the afternoon. The driver veered out of the eastbound lanes, over the median and into the westbound lanes where the Infiniti struck a 1998 Toyota Sienna head-on. The Infiniti then drifted off the road and struck a tree.*
The driver of the Infiniti was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. A passenger traveling in the Infiniti was not injured in the collision. The individuals in the Toyota only suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
