Rockford Head-On Collision Leaves One Woman Dead and Injures Two Other People

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS – As reported in an online news article published by www.mystateline.com, one person was killed and two others injured in an early evening head-on collision.

According to the Rockford Police Department, an early evening two-vehicle accident resulted in the death of a 54-year-old woman, and injuries to a 15-year-old male passenger along with a 37-year-old male driver.  All victims were transported to a local hospital, where the 54-year-old woman was pronounced dead.  The 2 additional victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened on Broadway and Eastmoreland in Rockford, with reports of 1 person being trapped in a vehicle. Police indicate that a vehicle was traveling westbound and crossed the center line, colliding with a vehicle traveling eastbound.  Reports of the accident do not reveal whether the vehicles were traveling on Broadway or Eastmoreland at the time of the accident.

However, police indicate that the 54-year-old deceased woman was driving the westbound vehicle with her 15-year-old male passenger, and the 37-year-old male driver was in the vehicle traveling eastbound.

The Rockford Police Department has not shared the identity of the deceased victim and has not reported why or how the accident happened.  As such, it is unclear what caused the 54-year-old woman’s vehicle to cross the center line resulting in a head-on collision that left her with fatal injuries.
