AURORA, IL- The chicagotribune.com writes that a woman was involved in a rollover collision on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at about 8:42 in the morning. The Aurora police reported that the accident took place close to Pennsylvania Avenue and West Illinois Avenue.*
The victim, Desiree Oliveraz, of Aurora, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries she received in the crash. The victim’s vehicle, a Pontiac G5, struck a parked car and then flipped onto its roof.
According to Oliveraz’saccount, her vehicle drifted to the right while she was headed north on Pennsylvania Avenue. She claims that she attempted to steer the car back into its lane but that nothing happened when she moved the steering wheel and the car continued to the right until it struck the parked vehicle.
Oliveraz crawled from the damaged vehicle. Police issued Oliveraz citations for improper lane usage, driving without a valid license and for driving without car insurance.
Vehiclerollovers are extremely dangerous accidents that cause a high number of fatalities each year. While rollover crashes only account for around 3 percent of severe car accidents, around 30 percent of people killed in crashes die in rollover collisions.
