PIATT COUNTY, IL- Foxillinois.com writes that a rollover crash involving a semi-truck took place on Interstate 72 on Tuesday,September 4, 2018. The crash occurred close to exit 169 at about 1:49 p.m.
The truck was pulling a trailer and was on the exit ramp to White Heath. Reports indicate that the truck traveled too far to the left on the ramp and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The cabin and the trailer both rolled and about 20 tons of rock was released from the truck and left on the road.
The exit ramp was blocked to traffic. The driver of the truck, 36-year-old Corey Kilgore of Allerton received a citation for his failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Semi-Trucks have certain advantages in collisions because they are the biggest vehicles on the roadway.
