Illinois- Daily-journal.com writes that a two-vehicle collision left three people with injuries on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. The crash took place at the intersection of Lehigh Road and Route 115.
Police reports indicate that a Dodge Ram was heading east on Route 115 at about 3 in the afternoon when a Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling south on Lehigh Road and neglected to make a stop at the stop sign. The Ford struck the Dodge.
A 31-year-old man from Herscher was in the Dodge with his 2-year-old son. The driver of the Ford was identified as55-year-old James E. Earleywine of Bradley. All three of the individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were brought to the Presence St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Police cited Earleywine for his failure to stop at the stop sign. This year has seen a number of crashes at the same intersection. The incidents all involved vehicles failing to obey stop signs.
The road has rumble strips and signs that are meant to warn drivers of the stop sign.
In September a semi-truck failed to stop at the intersection and was involved in a crash with a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, an 85-year-old Herscher man, suffered serious injuries in the crash. The driver of the large truck was cited for failing to yield.
Another crash took place in August in which a semi-truck failed to stop on Lehigh and hit a van that was traveling east on Illinois 115. The 24-year-old driver of the van suffered serious injuries. The police cited the driver of the semi for his failure to yield.
