KNOX COUNTY, IL – Kwqc.com writes that two people sustained severe injuries in a crash involving a tractor-trailer that took place in Knox County on Thursday, December 13, 2018. The truck collided with an SUV on Illinois Route 41 and Knox Road.*
The early investigation indicates that Waylon R. Clark, 31, of Monmouth, was driving east on Knox Road when he drove through a stop sign.A tractor-trailerwas traveling south on Illinois Route 41 and hit the SUV’s driver’s side. The impact of the collision pushed the SUV intoa ditch located south of the roadway. The driver of the truck was identified asDirk A. Steele, 35 of Maquon.
Heidi Clark, 32, was also in the SUV at the time of the collision. Both Heidi and Waylon were taken to a nearby hospital and then transferred to the OSF St. Francis Hospital via airlift. Both vehicle occupants were in the ICU.
The crash is still under investigation.
