CHICAGO, IL- The chicago.suntimes.com writes that two people, a man, and a woman, have died from injuries that they sustained in a car accident in Englewood on Christmas Eve. The crash also injured two other people.*
The collision took place on Monday, December 24, 2018,at about 1:53 in the afternoon. A Dodge Challengerthat was heading northbound on South Ashland struck a Volkswagen Passat that was attempting to turn left. The crash led to the Passat hitting a pedestrian and them colliding with a building.
The driver of the Passat, Larry Graves, 64, and Beverly Shell, 59, who was a passenger in the Passat, were both transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where they were both reportedly in critical condition.
Shell, who was from West Englewood, passed away at about 6:10 on Saturday morning. At about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Graves, from Park Forest, was declared dead as well.
Both victims’ deaths were caused by injuries that they sustained in the crash, and both deaths were determined to be accidental.
The man driving the Challenger and a passenger in the vehicle were both transported to the Christ Medical Center where both were said to be in stable condition.
The crash is currently being investigated by the Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
