She stated that her mother was driving on a “donut type spare tire” and that she suspected that her mother mighthave experienced problems with the tire causing her to pull over.

Basco’s vehicle was struck and pushed into the left side of the of the eastbound lanes. Timmons said her four-year-old niece was in the vehicle and that none of the people in the parked vehicle were belted when they were struck. HOUSTON, TX- Abc7chicago.com writes that employees at a bar have now been arrested following a fatal drunk driving crash that a bar patron caused after drinking with the employees.*

The drunk driver was only 19-years-old. Five employees who allegedly served the underage man are facing charges making alcoholic beverages ”available to a minor,” or for serving alcohol to a minor. The bar employees were identified as 21-year-old JaquinGonzalez, 21-year-old Jazely Marie Barrera, 21-year-old Mildred Garcia, 19-year-old Anna Evelyn Lula, and 28-year-old Gustavo Tejada-Garcia.

The driver who caused the crash was identifiedas Erick Hernandez, 19. Hernandez was under the influence of alcohol when he veered across three traffic lanes and struck an SUV on Monday morning, December 17, 2018. The driver of the SUV, Taylor Phillips, 23, was killed in the head-on collision. Also in the victim’s vehicle were the victim’s mother and her 1-year-old son.

Hernandez is facing charges for “intoxication manslaughter.” Videos from the bar show the defendant consuming alcoholic beverages, 12 in all, prior to getting into his vehicle. The three of the employees who are now facing charges were drinking tequila shots with Hernandez in the video.

The bar has six previous violations for alcohol-relatedoffenses this year, and the district attorney is considering moving to close down the business.

How long to settle a car accident lawsuit case in Illinois.

IOWA CITY- Qctimes.com writes that a head-on collision took place on U.S. Highway 67 on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. The victims were brought to the hospital via emergency helicopters.*

The authorities were called to the scene of the crash Wednesday evening. The collision left debris covering the roadway and caused traffic delays for several hours.

The authorities have not released the condition of the injured people who were the drivers of the two involved vehicles. One of the vehicles was a white pickup truck which was found in a ditch. The truck had caught fire in the crash. Bystanders and emergency responders were seen dousing out the fire before firefighters were able to extract the injured person inside. Witnesses say the firefighters had to cut the door from the truck to rescue the driver.

The other vehicle was a van. The driver of that vehicle was also trapped in her vehicle and had to be extracted by firefighters.

The crash is still being investigated.

Head-on collisions can happen in the blink of an eye. These crashes are devastating and are responsible for killing even good drivers who are paying attention to the road. In places where opposite moving lanes of traffic are not adequately separated by a barrier, a vehicle can easily drift into oncoming traffic because of a quick glance at a phone, or a radio dial. Because of the forces involved in cars traveling towards one another, vehicles do not have to be moving very fast to cause a severe and fatal crash.

LAKE COUNTY, IL- Nwherald.com writes that a 23-year-old man from Ingleside was killed in a head-on crash on Saturday, December 15, 2018. The crash occurred at about 12:10 in the morning. Two vehicles were involved in the deadly crash.*

Reports indicate that the victim, 23-year-old Feliciano Hernandez-Saucedo was driving in a 2002 Acura TL westbound on Route 134. Hernandez-Saucedo veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a Buick Century that was driving westbound.

Hernandez-Saucedo died at the scene of the accident. The reports found that the victim was not using a seatbelt. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.

The72-year-old man operating the Buick only suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the Buick, identified as a 72-year-old woman, was critically injured. The people in the Buick are both from Round Lake. The injured persons were transported to the Advocate Condell Medical Center /

The woman suffered several bone fractures and was still listed as being in critical condition as of Wednesday evening.

Illinois has a universal seatbelt law that requires everyone in a vehicle to be buckled up. The law exists for a good reason. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 14,668 people’s lives were saved by seatbelts in 2016. Fortunately, 90.1 percent of people in the United States. The NHTSA estimates that about 2,456 additional lives could have been saved in 2016 if seatbelts were used universally. When vehicles have airbags, these safety features are also designed to work in conjunction with seatbelts, not as a substitute for them. Airbags inflate in the places designed to protect vehicle occupants who are properly restrained.

Chicago Traffic Accidents in Real-Time

INGLESIDE, IL- Patch.com writes that a man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Ingleside has now been identified. The victim, Feliciano Hernandez-Saucedo, 23, of Ingleside was killed last Saturday, December 15, 2018, in an accident that took place at about 12:10 a.m. A 72-year-old woman from Round Lake also sustained critical injuries in the crash.*

The two vehicles collided on Route 134 close to North Robin Road. Hernandez-Saucedo was driving a 2002 Acura TL westbound when he veered across the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle, a 2000 Buick Century. Hernandez-Saucedo died at the site of the collision. Reports from the investigation revealed that the victim did not have his seatbelt on at the time of the crash.

A 72-year-old man and the 72-year-old woman were in the Buick. Both were brought to the Advocate Condell Medical Center. The man, who had been operating the Buick, only sustained minor injuries, while the woman was in critical condition.

The crash is still being investigated.

Head-on collisions can happen very quickly as the result of a minor mistake. A driver who is not alert can drift over the center line on an undivided roadway with no warning to drivers traveling in the other direction. While most crashes can be avoided by cautious driving, even good drivers can be killed in head-on collisions where vehicles drive into their path without warning.

Driver behavior is not easily altered. The best way to keep people safe is todesign better roadways. In order to avoid head-on collisions, it is best to install medians that divide lanes of traffic that are moving in opposite directions, especially when the speed limit is above 40 miles per hour.

HUNTLEY, IL- Nwherald.com writes that Haligus Road was closed down for hours on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, following an afternoon crash in Huntley.*

Officers were called to the scene around 1:20 p.m. The vehicles involved included a 2015 Toyota Corolla and a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer.

Four people were in the vehicles at the time of the crash. Two of the individuals sustained injuries and were brought to the Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital where they were treated. The injuries were described as serious.

Drivers in the area were told to avoid Haligus Road and Dundee Road for a number of hours while the crash was cleared and investigated. The roads were opened again by about 4:30 in the afternoon.

The accident is still under investigation by theKane County Accident Reconstruction Team.

According to research conducted by insurance companies, every driver will be involved in about 3 or 4 car accidents within the course of their driving years. While most of these crashes will not be severe or life-threatening, they will at least be expensive. The costs are higher still when injuries occur, and unfortunately, there are a lot of severe car accidents in the United States that lead to high medical costs.

Being a cautious and responsible driver can reduce the chances of a person being in a serious collision. You can reduce your chances of a terrible crash by never drinking and driving, paying attention to the road, and never speeding. It is also wise to avoid the roads late at night, such as between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m., when there are statistically more alcohol-impaireddrivers on the road.
